GeogCafe Est. 2003

Geography & Humanities · Singapore · Since 2003

One subject family.
Taught properly.

GeogCafe is not a do-everything tuition chain. It teaches Geography and the Humanities — and only that — from Secondary through JC, IB and IP. Structured notes, model answers, exam technique, small classes.

The centre's stated record

>80%

of A & O-Level students achieve distinction yearly, against a national average of about ~35%.

100%

of students with us for 6+ months moved up at least 2 grades.

20+

years teaching Geography and the Humanities, since 2003.

≤ 8

students per class — small enough for discussion and individual feedback.

Figures above are the centre's own stated outcomes, reproduced as it presents them — not independently audited, and shown here without the embellished rating widget the original site carried.

How lessons run

Taught like a subject, not a service.

An interactive method run by a former MOE Subject Head and Senior Teacher. The same person sets the notes, teaches the class, and marks the work.

01

Exclusive notes & model answers

Structured notes and worked model answers built over two decades of teaching — used both to learn the content and to revise close to the exam. Not sold in the market.

02

Exam technique, not just content

Most marks are lost on how a question is answered, not on what is known. Lessons drill command words, source-based skills, and structured-response writing to the marking scheme.

03

Small classes, real discussion

Classes are capped at eight. Small enough that every student is questioned, gets feedback, and develops viewpoints — not a lecture hall.

04

Real-world case studies

Concepts are anchored to real local and global examples — climate systems, urban change, hazards, citizenship — so they can be applied, not memorised.

What is taught

Who teaches

Written by the person
who marks the paper.

GeogCafe's Principal Tutor is a former Ministry of Education Subject Head and Senior Teacher who has taught Geography since 2003 — and is the author of the GCE O-Level Geography Ten-Year-Series, used across Singapore for more than ten consecutive years, and an A-Level Geography model-essays guidebook sold islandwide.

The Humanities side is led by a Second Upper Honours double-major who has mentored Social Studies and History students since 2008. No revolving door of part-time tutors — the people who set the notes teach the lessons.

This is an independent rebuild of GeogCafe's web presence by Made By Katalyst — consolidating roughly twenty thin pages into four, removing a fabricated rating widget, and presenting the centre's real programmes and stated results clearly. No contact details, names, or enquiry forms are published here by design.
